What can I expect
Our service may be a little different to what you’ve experienced of church in the past. The style is informal and you’re free to take part to whatever extent you feel comfortable.
Our worship centres on who God is and what he has done. The musical style is lively and contemporary. We give space for real -life stories about what God is doing in people’s lives and for church members to share things they believe God wants to say to us.
We have a talk based on the bible that aims to teach us about God, about ourselves, about the world that we live in and about how we can experience God’s best for our lives.
Also, there will always be trained people available who can talk and pray with you if this would be helpful.
The service finishes around 12.00 when coffee, tea, squash and biscuits are available and people can stay and chat if they want to.
What about my children?
Alongside the main meeting there are several groups catering for children aged 3-11 years old. They leave the grown-ups after a couple of songs and have their own communal time of worship and games before dividing into smaller age related groups to explore and learn from the Bible and have related activities. There is also a creche for under 3's.
Anything else?
About once a month, as part of our worship, we invite people to take part in communion, where we share bread and wine in accordance with what Jesus taught. This is how we regularly affirm that the Christian life is not based in what we do, but about what Jesus has done, and continues to do for us.
Also, on a regular basis we baptise people. Jesus taught that on becoming a Christian this is the way we express our trust in him and our desire to live for him. We take time to hear the stories of those being baptised and these occasions are usually a lot of fun!
