The Gateway Centre
Situated in the busy Acomb shopping area, the Gateway Centre is grade 2 listed and is seen as a local landmark, with its distinctive clocktower. As well as being home to Gateway Church, the centre has developed into a thriving centre of activity for the wider community.
The Gateway Centre has recently undergone a major extension. This now means the building offers
- 3000 sq ft of additional space for group activities and events
- new, larger kitchen to meet the demand for catered events
- new café area
- improved crèche and play area
- new toilet block with disabled and baby changing facilities
- parking for push chairs, mobility buggies and cycles
In addition the centre is home to various community-focused activities, including youth events, a café for the over-60’s, a parent and toddlers group, a debt advice service and a counselling service for those facing unplanned pregnancy. We are also pleased to be able to facilitate the work of other community groups by making the facilities available for wider use.
