Conference and Meeting Rooms
Ground Floor Accommodation
MAIN HALL The main hall is a flexible space suitable for larger conferences and other events and has the capacity to seat up to 300 people theatre style.
The hall is fully equipped with a professional AV system, as well as stage lighting, a ceiling mounted digital projector and fixed screen. An induction loop is installed for those with hearing difficulties and WiFi access is available throughout the building.
Whilst the main hall can be used to accommodate larger conferences it can equally be set up board room style for smaller meetings or learning activities, café style events, or receptions.

THE OAK ROOM This room can seat 80 people theatre style and can also be split into two smaller rooms of equal size that can seat 25 people boardroom style. It is a carpeted room, with a high quality and welcoming atmospherethat can be easily adapted for either business meetings, toddler groups, or social events. There is a fixed projection screen at one end of the room and it also has its own induction loop.
THE WILLOW ROOM This carpeted room is suitable for smaller meetings and will accommodate up to 40 people theatre style, and comfortably seat 20 people board room style. It is regularly used for training activities by different organisations.
THE ACORN ROOM This room is a flexible space that can be hired out for meetings of about 20-30 people or as a breakout room for larger conferences, but would also be well-suited as a children's play area. If you need to provide a creche with your event, then this would be a good space to hire alongside the other meeting rooms.
First Floor Accommodation
Please note that there is no disabled access to the first floor accommodation and you should take this into account when making your booking. There are toilets available on this floor, together with a small staff kitchen where teas and coffees can be made.
THE LOUNGE This is an informal and comfortable room which can seat 12 people in sofas and armchairs. It is a good space for counselling, relaxed discussion/support groups and other informal meetings. It can also act a break out room for larger conferences
INTERVIEW ROOM Our interview room is useful for smaller meetings of 2-3 people and is also suitable for one-to-one counselling or tutoring. The room includes a desk, telephone and internet access.
Room Hire Charges
Gateway Action is a charitable company which aims to help build a stronger community through a range of projects and activities that contribute to people's wellbeing. By using our facilities you will be positively contributing to this work.
We are conscious that many of the groups that use the Gateway Centre are either charities, voluntary societies or groups that have a limited budget for the hire of rooms. With this is in mind we have a tiered system of room hire rates. Regular, long term bookings may also be eligible for a further discount.
If you need to hire the whole Centre out for an event we would be happy to negotiate an all-inclusive price. Please speak directly to our Centre Manager about this for further information.
